Article marketing can be used to increase web site traffic via a few different means. One of these is that of generating backlinks that can help create higher search engine rankings, and thus, search engine traffic. Another way is to submit your articles to the highly trafficked article directories and gain traffic that way.

You can increase your website traffic in a number of different ways through the judicial use of article marketing. By submitting articles to article directories it is possible to attract targeted visitors and to improve your listing in search engine indexes by means of one way back links.

One of the most important things with articles when they are submitted to article directories for the purpose of being read and click through to your web site, is that the reader has to sense a desire to actually click into your web site after reading your article. This is really a skill to be learned and mastered.

When people who are passionate about a subject write about it, their passion shows through in their writing. This naturally keeps directed or even accidental visitors interested in reading the article, and it is not unknown for the sheer power of the writing to keep visitors riveted even though they had no previous interest in the topic.

This, however, is rare, and generally your visitors will have an initial interest in what they are reading; so a reasonably well written article should be sufficient to whet their appetite for more. A visitor will use your article to make a judgment as to whether or not he or she considers that you know sufficient about the subject to be able to help them with their problem, or provide them with the information they are seeking. One of the secrets of successful article marketing is to persuade them that you can answer any question they may have.
