Who Likes Algebra?

'Who likes algebra?' is the most dreadful question that rarely anyone in the class dares to answer in a 'yes' or even a nod. But a fact is that everyone has the skills to succeed in algebra. The answer is everyone who likes sports, foreign languages, science or architecture should like algebra. Confused? Read on.

Algebra and Sports

When you learn to play a particular game, is it enough to read facts about it and watch others play? Of course not! With sports you master it by playing. The same thing applies to algebra; you can't just read the book like a story book. You have to practice the problems. You cannot be the greatest player by practicing the day before the match. Practice every day. Similar is algebra, you have to work every day.

Algebra and Foreign Languages

When you start learning a language, you build your vocabulary from limited words to fluent language. Surprising, but same is true with algebra. The only difference is that you don't build a vocabulary in algebra, but knowledge. Practice everyday, and soon you will notice that you can solve a complex problem in more than one ways!

Algebra and Science

Like in science, everything works on logic. There might be many solutions to a problem, but the required might be a single solution. Careful study of the question and precise calculation is required.

Algebra and Architecture

In case of a building, each story is built on the strong base of the one that was built before. Any shaky floor will lead to a weak building. Similarly in algebra, each concept is inferred from the ones that came before.

Also, leaving out on things can be disastrous! If you skip chapter 5, it is possible that you don't understand chapter 6 and 7 too! So don't jump onto things! Do everything in a systematic way, at the right time.

Algebra is useless.

You can do well even if you don't like it. In life there are many things we think we'd rather not do, but we do them anyway. Take it as a challenge and prove everyone wrong! Who says algebra is tough? Who said I can't do algebra? Snap the answers to everyone's face. Be the algebra king!

Happy learning!
